A blog about new up and coming artists!

Hey Music Lovers

Hey Music Lovers,
Sorry I haven’t been posting in a while as I have been at camp! I got back tonight so I will be writing a ton tomorrow and the next day. Until then I can reveal that you will love the new music I have discovered while on my little mini camp vacation.

Sorry again,

Interview with Today is Ours

Hey Music Lovers,

So I did an email interview with Today is Ours last night and I want you all to check them out. I listened to their single Show the World and loved it. Jesse Huerta is so talented and has a great voice. They are working on some music now, so I hope you follow them on twitter @TodayIsOursCA and like them on facebook. I hope you enjoy the interview.

Headphone Noise: What got you started in music?

Today is Ours: Some of my best friends in high school got me into doing music
recreationally with a hardcore band when I was around 13 or 14. I’ve
loved songwriting ever since.

HN: When?

TIO: That was around 2007.

HN: Do you enjoy doing it?

TIO: I love love love it. Music is definitely my outlet.

HN: Who do you admire in the music world?

TIO: It’s hard to say, individually. I admire any artist who can achieve
great success in the music world. Seeing their dreams lived is super
inspiring and respectable to me.

HN: Why?

TIO: Making a career in the music world is definitely not so easy for a lot
of bands and artists who try to make a name for themselves. To see
musicians develop themselves and stick out enough to make a career of
it from the huge sea of acts that the world has to offer is just
inspiring to me.

HN: Do you get nervous before performing?

TIO: Not so much as I used to be. Thankfully.

HN: How often do you preform?

TIO: I’ll hit a show here and there, but I haven’t been performing too
often lately. I plan on changing that very soon, but until then I’ve
been working harder behind the scenes.

HN: Do you enjoy it?

TIO: I love performing. Everything about it. I would play a show every
night for the rest of my life if I could.

HN: Do you have anything coming up?

TIO: Not currently, but there’s much concert hustle and bustle to be had
not too far down the line.

HN: Where do you want your career to go?

TIO: It is my dream to make a living doing music. So I suppose I want my
career to go anywhere that I can call it my job.

HN: Would you do anything differently during your music career?

TIO: As of now, I don’t think so. I’m really doing all that I can for my
music career right now, and I’m getting a lot of warm loving feedback.
It’s really been great.

HN: Any advice you have for new musicians that want to get out there?

TIO: My advice would be just that: get out there! Don’t be shy, play shows
anywhere you can, and always continue doing what you love.

HN: Can you share anything with us that you have coming up?

TIO: I can definitely tell you that I will be releasing an EP soon and that
my debut single “Show the World” is only a taste of what is to come
from Today Is Ours. There’s lots of updates to come!

Definitely be sure to go check out Today is Ours on twitter, @TodayIsOursCA and facebook. I wish him all the best in getting his career going.

Until Next Time,

Jordan K.

Deamer Artist

So I usually write about more than one artist in each post but I have decided to just write about one artist per post now. It just makes it easier on me and such when I am writing. I am also hoping to add some stuff onto the blog(:

Anyways, today I wanted to talk about Deamer, an up and coming UK rapper. Now I know we all live our british preformers and let me tell you that you will love him too. He is such an amazingly talented person. I haven’t really talked about too many rappers, but rap is my favorite music. When I heard him I fell in love and knew I had found a new rapper to obsess over for a while. I am so happy to share his talent with all of you so that you can check him out. I listened to his song I get it when I need it. Honestly it is just pure talent and he isn’t a hardcore rapper which I like because sometimes rap can get overwhelming. I honestly hate to compare people to Eminem, but I just have to. He has that kind of talent, that he can use to help him launch his career. I hope you check him out and please follow him on twitter @deamerartist. You will not regret it if you like rap!

Until Next Time,

Voice Preformers and Their Journey

Hello Music Lovers,

I am going to try to post a lot today like I did on Saturday, but no guarentees. I really want to talk about a few people on the Voice that I thought were really talented. Some have started kickstarters, some are recording, some are preforming, and some are doing it all.

First I want to talk about Lindsey Pavao. She was very talented and when it came down to her and Chris Mann to go to the final, no one knew who would go through because they were both so very talented. She unfortunately didn’t make it  there, but she did start up a kickstarter and reach her goal. That means she is able to make her album which I know I can not wait to hear. She is such an influence to me and is so talented. I loved her version of Say Ahh and really was pulling for her through most of the voice. She was able to preform so well and her voice is amazing. I am wishing her so much success and hope you follow her journey on twitter @LindseyPavao.

The next person I want to talk about is Charolette Sometimes. She is amazing with her voice. I loved her cover of Misery Business and am happy to say that is my ringtone.  Her preformance of that was one of my favorite preformances of anyone on the voice. I really hope she has so much success in her career. She is currently working on an album to put out and preforming. I hope you check out her music and listen to it because I am sure you will really enjoy it. Follow her on twitter @4eversometimes.

Next I want to talk about Karla Davis. She was great on the voice and has such great talent. She was unfortunately voted off too early for my liking, but I am hoping she will become big. She has been doing preformances and a stage it store. I love how she preforms and is able to use her voice to captivate people. I am hoping that her career really does take off because she deserves it. I hope you go to check her out and follow her on twitter @karladavisofficial.

Next Time I hope to talk about a few guys from the voice so be sure to tune in!(:

New Music

Hey Fellow Music Lovers,

Well I recently asked on my twitter account @Pipsbluehoodie if any of my fellow Pip fans knew of any good up and coming artists for me to check out and blog about. I got about 3 replies and looked into all 3 of them and let me tell you that they are all amazing. I definitely hope you check these guys out after this post and follow them through their journey because they are something else. I just love that all these new musicians that I am finding are fantastic and can sing and dance and preform so well. I can’t believe that most of them aren’t famous yet which surprises me.

The first musician that I was told about was Luke Watters. Pip’s sister Eileen told me that he was one of Pip’s friends and that I should check him out so I did. Once I discovered his music I realized that Pip had tweeted about him before and when I heard him I fell in love with his music all over again. I heard his cover of Call Me Maybe a while back and loved it so this time I decided to listen to some other covers that I hadn’t heard to talk about. I listened to his cover of  Love you like a love song and I loved it. He has such a unique voice and can play the guitar fabulously. He always puts a different spin on the covers he does and never sounds anything like the original version of the song at all which I like because when I hear a cover I don’t want it to sound identical because I can’t figure out your individual style. I really hope you check him out on youtube under LukeWattersMusic and on Twitter @LukeLWatters.

The next artist that I was told about is Josh Golden. I had never heard of him before so I was really excited to check out his stuff that he could do. I found out that he has written some of his songs and I love how he writes and his lyrics. It really inspired me the way he put the best romance movies he could think of and incorporated them into the song which is unique. I also loved his covers and how he put his spin on it especially in his remix of someone like you. It was not anything that I was expecting at all and I liked that he was able to surprise me. I m excited to continue to listen to him. Be sure to check him out on Youtube under JoshGoldenMusic and on twitter @JoshGoldenMusic.

The final artist that I was told about is Joey Biagas. He has such a great voice and a unique one at that. The first thing of his that I had ever heard was his cover of Boyfriend and it is amazing the way of his acoustic version. Just like Josh it is nothing like I expected because instead of starting like the original and going into a more acoustic it is almost the opposite. It starts acoustic and gets more rock style toward the end. I love the way he puts a spin on the song and I really love his voice and the way he preforms. I love the other songs that are originals that he has. They are amazing and just fit him so well and his voice. I can’t wait to see where he goes in his career. Be sure to follow along with him on twitter @SettingSunrise and listen to him on Youtube under SettingSunriseMusic.

Until Next Time,

Some More Of The Voice

So I guess saying that I love the voice is an understatement since all I have been blogging about is the voice, but I promise that will change soon since I just found a few amazing artists that I can’t wait to share with you guys soon. However, lets get back to this post about some great contestants on The Voice, Jamar Rodgers, Nathan Parrett, Chris Mann, and Angie Johnson. They were very talented and two of them made it all the way to the final night.

Lets start with Chris Mann and his music. Since the voice he has signed a major record deal to create an album which I am very happy for him. His voice is so unique and he can bust out anything. He has proved this multiple times especially when he auditioned for the voice, his performance was amazing. He has proven that he can draw many people in with his voice, performance, and stage appearance. He has been preforming at events since the voice and recently preformed the national anthem at the dodgers game. Please be sure to keep your eye on him because he will be successful soon. Also follow him on twitter @IAmChrisMann.

The next Voice contestant that I want to discuss is Jamar Rogers. He was probably one that I want to go far in his career and life. His family is also amazing as well as his mom Danielle Rogers, @MamaDRogers. His voice is amazing and my favorite performance of his on the voice was his cover of Its My Life. He is currently planning on preforming at a few shows that he has set up and is also working on some music. Be sure to follow him on twitter for updates @jsquidward and his fanpage on twitter @jamarshood.

Another contestant that I know a lot of Pipsters love, along with myself is Nathan Parrett. He went up against Pip in the battle rounds and that is when I was torn because I wanted them both to move on but they couldn’t. However, since Nathan left the voice he was in Spring Awakening, did a few songs with Pip and other voice contestants, and also is in John Hughes. He is becoming more and more successful day by day and I know I am proud that he has accomplished so much already and will be accomplishing more soon I hope. Be sure to check him out and follow him @ParrettNathan on twitter.

The final contestant that I want to talk about is Angie Johnson. She made it to the battle rounds and during the blinds she captivated me with her voice. I really loved how she was able to draw people in. She recently was working on a kickstarter and reached her goal so that she can create an album that I know I can not wait to hear and listen to. She is truly great and you should check out her music and follow her on twitter @angiekjohnson.
Until Next Time,

Jordan K.

KickStarter Projects and Youtube Preformers

Hey Fellow Music Lovers,
So I have been browsing kickstarters and youtube to find new artists to start listening to and also introduce you to. I have found a few that I would love for you all to check out and also if you wouldn’t mind, donating to their kickstarters so that they can make an album and continue doing what they love.

The first musician I found through kickstarter and then listened to all of her youtube songs and covers. Her name is Jessica Fine and her voice is so soft and unique. I listened to her cover of Colorblind by the counting crows first before anything else and I thought to myself, man why isn’t she famous yet? She is probably one of the most talented people I have ever heard. I also listened to her song that she wrote called A Better Place For Me and her voice still sounded amazing, but it had a different tone in this song than colorblind and I loved her even more. She is a great writer and musician and I hope she is able to fund her kickstarter and create another album for everyone. I know that I will be checking out her last album and listen to it as well as check out her new album if she makes one. Follow her on twitter for updates @JessieFine.

Another musician I have discovered recently is Jacob Whiteside. He is only 14 years old and is already trying to make a kickstarter so that he can make an album. Personally I think this is incredible. He can play guitar and sing. His voice is amazing and even though he is from Tennessee you can’t even tell that he has an accent or anything. He has done a lot of covers and I have listened to all of them. I personally like his cover of Boyfriend, because it shows he can sing in different tones, and his cover of Not Over You, because it sounds like he could be Gavin Degraw if you’re just listening and not watching. He is amazing and I think that he will be discovered and huge in no time. Be sure to check him out on Youtube, Help with his kickstarter if you can, and follow him on twitter @JacobWhitesides.

The final musician I want to chat about I found on youtube while browsing Payphone Covers. His name is Leroy Sanchez. I really enjoyed listening to his cover as payphone because to me his voice is perfect for this song and I could compare it to the original, but he puts unique changes on it. I also enjoyed listening to his cover of someone like you because it proves that he can use the power in his voice to accomplish an Adele song and isn’t afraid to do it. I love that he will attempt to sing any song and do any genre. I hope that he goes far in the music field because he has a voice that is capable of doing it. Follow him on twitter @IamLeroySanchez and check out his covers on youtube as well.
Until Next Time,

Jordan K.

The Voice Influences People

Hey music lovers,

I am just do influenced by people of The Voice that I need to blog about them because I owe all of them a thanks for making me love music even more. They have taught me that music influences and helps people through anything because of there stories that they have shared. Today I wanna talk about Jamie Lono, The Shields Brothers, Justin Hopkins, and James Massone. They were amazing on the show and they are all working hard after the show to make music and establish a career which I know is possible for all of them!

To start off let’s talk about James Massone. He was one of the favorites in my household to win The Voice because we all loved his voice. He has such a following from teenagers that will help him accomplish a lot in his music career because teenagers are who help you become something in music. However he also has an amazing voice and that will help him majorly. I really love how he draws the crowd in when he is performing with his voice and stage appearance! I can’t wait to see where he goes in his career, so be sure to follow him on twitter @jamesmassone.

The next contestant from The Voice that I wanna talk about is Justin Hopkins, another favorite in my household to win it all on The Voice. His voice is so captivating like James, but it’s also so unique that it’s like something else. His voice has a unique tone to it that you just can’t help but continue to listen to him. Personally I have listened to his song RaceCar and love it and encourage many to go listen to it. He has a few shows coming up and highly encourage you to go check him out. He also has such a following on twitter. So be sure to follow him on twitter for many updates @jhopsmusicbox

The third person from the voice that I want to talk about is Jamie Lono. I feel like I keep repeating myself by saying this, but he also has such a unique voice and captivates people with his voice. He has such a following on twitter from @janielonost that helps promote him. He is working on his album The Feel Good Nation that comes out August 24th. Be sure to check out that album and purchase it because I am sure it will be amazing. He also has had his song My My My play on 103.5 kiss fm. He is really accomplishing things in his career and I hope he continues to. Be sure to follow him on twitter @jamielono

The final voice contestant I want to talk about are the Shields Brothers. They are a rock group that preform great and have such a great voice between the two of them. They are very complimentary to each other which makes them sound so great together. Since they are brothers they also mesh together very well. I love there cover of rehab because they put a rock n roll twist on it which makes it so great. Normally I am not a rock n roll type of person, but they make me want to love to listen to it because they just make it so great. They are currently working on more music so be sure to follow them on twitter @shieldsbrothers

Until Next Time,
Jordan K.

Folk Music, Country Music, Pop Music, and The Voice

Hey Music Lovers out there,

So today I want to talk about more new artists that I found through twitter. I love finding new music and musicians on twitter since most of them are trying to make it in the music world and are always really talented! If you know of any new artists please let me know because I would love to check out their music!

So I have 3 artists to talk about today and they all happen to be connected to The Voice!

The first person I want to talk about is Gwen Sebastian. She is a very talented country music artist that was on The Voice. She didn’t win though, but she is just as good as everyone else on that show. I recently found her music online and love it. She has such a powerful strong voice that inspires many. She reminds me a lot of Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler from American Idol because she uses that power in her voice to sing, but can tone it down when she wants. I find her absolutely amazing and you should definitely check her out on twitter @GwenSebastian

The next artist that I found was Chris Cauley and let me tell you that when I saw his voice audition I fell in love with his voice. He did a rendition of Grenade that was amazing. He was able to tone his voice down, but he also has this power in his voice that he can bust out and make it amazing. He has a few covers out on youtube and is constantly posting on facebook about new music and I know I can’t wait to hear it because he can really become something big. Be sure to check him out on twitter @ChrisCauley and facebook for updates about his music.

The final person that I want to talk about was Sarah Golden who is a folk artist and auditioned for The Voice. I am not normally a folk music person, but I love her voice and covers that she does, so it allows me to be able to listen to it! I think she will go far in the music career because her voice is very unique and it will help her in music. I know the folk genre isnt as popular as many other genres in music, but she does very unique renditions with her voice that make it interesting and fun to listen to. Be sure to check her out on twitter as well @SarahMGolden

Until Next Time,

Jordan K.

Up and Coming Artists

So recently I have been browsing youtube and twitter for new up and coming artists and have found a few I am in love with their voice and music!

The first one I found in about February when he appeared on NBC’s The Voice and sang House of The Rising Sun. He was one of the favorites in my household. His name is Pip and unfortunately he did not win the voice, but has since been able to raise money through a kickstarter and start to create and album. He has preformed at a few shows and is planning to tour once his album comes out. You will all need to be sure to follow and check out one of his shows. His voice is amazing and he has done a few covers and an original song on youtube. You all definitely need to check him out and follow him on twitter because in a few years you will see his name and face everywhere. He has a huge following as it is and trust me it will grow larger. Check him out @pip_andrew on twitter and youtube.

Another new artist I have recently been introduced to is Aubrey Logan. I found her when Pip started tweeting about her and ever since I have listened to her covers almost as much as I have listened to Pips. She has such a strong powerful voice that it captivates you into wanting to never stop listening. I recently tweeted her cover of stronger. She will be going far very soon as well since she is going to be releasing some new music of her own very soon so be sure to follow her on twitter @aubrey_logan for updates.

The final new up and coming artist I was introduced to is Mandy Barry. Her voice reminds me of Aubrey’s in a way because it is strong and powerful but both are very unique and different. I recently found her while browsing Aubrey’s twitter page and started to browse through Mandy’s covers and discovered that I can’t wait for her to do some amazing things and am looking forward to hearing more from her very soon in the future. Be sure to follow her on twitter as well @MandyBarry for updates and covers!

Until Next Time,

Jordan K.
